Like to fall in a trap?

B. A. Manakala

My enemies have set a trap for me. I am weary from distress. They have dug a deep pit in my path, but they themselves have fallen into it. Interlude. Ps 57:6

Many years ago we had a cat at home. One day I set a trap for it. I had forgotten about the trap and I myself fell into it later! That was a very painful experience.

Generally, we don't set a trap for others. But do we rejoice when others fall into any trap? Do we desire for the downfall of others for some reason?

If you set a trap for others you will fall in it yourself (Pro 26:27). Seeing you fall, those who were to fall into the pit may laugh at you.

The golden rule of the Bible is the best principle here: do to others what you want them to do to you (Mtt 7:12).

If you have even a desire to see others fall, it is not God, but satan that is at work in you!

Prayer: Lord, help me to do to others only what I desire to be done to myself. Amen
