Slippery field!

B. A. Manakala

For you have rescued me from death; you have kept my feet from slipping. So now I can walk in your presence, O God, in your life-giving light. Ps 56:13

One evening during the rainy season we as family went for a walk in a paddy field. Our children were slipping often though we warned them. When I held my son by his hand, he did not fall though he still slipped.

Living in this world is like walking in a slippery field where there are many chances of slipping. Often we think we are doing fine, and will not fall at all. But be careful (1 Cor 10:12). And remember the promise that He will not let your foot slip (Ps 121:3) as long as you let him hold your hand.

What all things could you do to ensure that you don't fall?

Don't focus too much on the slippery field; focus on your father who is holding you.

Prayer: Father, don't let me leave your hand and run away, and try to walk in this world myself. Amen
