Your bottle in heaven
B.A. Manakala
You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. Ps 56:8 (nlt)
I easily get a lot of tears when I cut onions. I pray daily, but rarely in tears!
When we go to heaven we are going to see a surprise bottle there (56:8). Tears may represent sorrow, joy, sincerity and various such emotions. Aren't we usually able to shed tears when we earnestly pray for our own needs?
God blesses those who mourn and they will be comforted (Mtt 5:4). It is better to spend your time at funerals than at parties (Ecc. 7:2). Sorrow is better than laughter (7:3). However, do not entertain unhealthy sorrow and worry (Ecc 11:10). Remember, joy is one of the fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22).
Is storing up in heaven your priority?
Earthly sorrow is momentary; heavenly joy is eternal
Prayer: Lord, teach me to cry for others meaningfully, yet be focused on the eternal joy that you give. Amen

Amen
