Painless, healthy and strong
They seem to live such painless lives; their bodies are so healthy and strong. (Ps 73:4 nlt)
When we get sick, naturally from a human point of view, we may also think like what the psalmist explains here (Ps. 73:4). My neighbours who do not know God are painless, healthy and strong, and have everything they want. I am a child of the Almighty God, and still have sicknesses and suffering!
The only One we should see at such times is Jesus. He ignored the privilege of being God and took human form, left His most comfortable place and position in heaven and was born in a manger, to live with us on earth where wickedness prevailed; took the humble position of a slave, and died on the cross like a criminal (Phil. 2:6-8). I often wondered, was it not possible for Jesus to choose to be born in a royal family on earth, lived like a prince, and still achieve the mission his Father had given him. It is good to be painless, healthy, strong and rich; but these are all secondary for a child of God. The most important thing for a good Christian is to achieve the mission God has given him or her despite all kinds of pain and suffering he or she may have on earth.
How do I see my pain and the painlessness of the wicked?
If we are painless, healthy, strong and rich let us use all of that for achieving God’s mission; if we are painful, sick and weak let us still follow the footprints of Jesus.
Prayer: Lord, teach me to focus on the mission that you gave me rather than on my problems. Amen

Amen
