Wear pride and cruelty?
They wear pride like a jeweled necklace and clothe themselves with cruelty. (Ps 73:6 nlt)
In my childhood, during Christmas seasons, several carol singing teams visited us at night. I used to think that Santa Claus is real. Gradually I realised that it was someone dressed up to appear like it. Later sometimes when my friends played Santa, by their actions I was able to figure out who was playing Santa.
A true Christian cannot easily be influenced by the things on earth, including wealth and prosperity. We may be able to make this formula out of these verses: wickedness + earthly prosperity = pride and cruelty (Ps. 73:3-6). And the saddest part of it is that they are proud of their pride and cruelty that they wear them like a necklace and clothes (Ps. 73:6).
In case God has given us earthly prosperity it is important to examine ourselves and keep ourselves accountable with the assembly of believers that we do not let pride and cruelty creep into our lives. When we have heavenly prosperity we would share the earthly prosperity with the poor.
What do I wear outside as expressions of the true prosperity I have?
True Christians wear humility and empathy even when they are rich; the wicked wear pride and cruelty with their prosperity.
Prayer: Lord, let me have the right perspectives on earthly and heavenly riches. Amen

Amen
