Can Man Instruct God?

B. A. Manakala

Put on Your armor, and take up Your shield. Prepare for battle, and come to my aid. Ps. 35:2

This verse does not appear to be part of a prayer. The Psalm looks like a prayer by David. Oxford Learners Dictionary defines prayer as "words that you say to God giving thanks or asking for help". But in this prayer David is instructing God about how exactly He should act, though it is mostly about his own rescue (read verses 1-3).

God knows what, when and how to act. But as David did, His children have the freedom to communicate to God our expectations with specific instructions.

God and His children are coworkers who share ideas in building
God's kingdom.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, help me to pray and act in partnership with you always. Amen
