Strong Desire

B. A. Manakala

As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for You, O God. I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before him? Ps. 42:1-2

A thirsty deer at a stream is not very easily distracted by the surroundings though they will be careful about their enemies. They run and find water so eagerly.

Can we manage a day without internet or social media? Can we go on for a week without having rice, or our common food? Very difficult? Can we go on without prayer and reading of scripture for a day, a week or a month? How much do we desire or long to be with God?

How much do we long for God? How easily our attention from God can be taken away?

Our desire for God may be measured by the environment that distracts us.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to love You more daily, and spend more time with You. Amen
